L’Orangerie Bouquet
Acrylic and watercolor on cotton paper
16x20
Gold bamboo frame
Ready to hang
Inspired by the town of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat in the South of France.
Titled “L’Orangerie Bouquet” she’s inspired by our first big trip as a family of three post pandemic.
My daughter was two and a half, and it was her first time flying overseas to meet her cousins in Germany. For the final days of our trip, the three of us went to the South of France to the most magical little town on the Riviera. We stayed in an idyllic spot called “L’Orangerie Villa” at our hotel and soaked up every single minute by the water, in the garden, and cuddled close while we sipped our coffee in the mornings. It felt like such a gift after spending the first two years of my daughter’s life in such isolation.
16x20 in size, the background is painted with acrylic and mimics the soft cornflower blue of the sky, while the citrus has been painted in watercolor and each delicate leaf and branch was carefully cut out by hand and mounted onto the piece. The ribbon is painted with acrylic in a rich, deep green and white stripe that invokes the feeling of being at the Riviera. She’s been framed in a timeless gold bamboo frame and sits behind glass. Ready to hang.
